In its formative stages, a few clients told us that they found our application hard to use, which affected their satisfaction. We didn't take the remarks lightly; instead, we opted for multiple user interviews and usability tests to get more elaborate views.

According to the results obtained, we discovered that individuals were being confused by the navigation system, whereas the process used during initial setup was too much. As a consequence, we decided to recreate the whole UI so as to simplify navigation and also create a friendlier onboarding process for new users. These modifications were then effected through an update of our app version, which not only led to high levels of contentment among clients but also significantly raised their retention rates.

This incident taught me how essential it is to listen actively to what your clientele has to say about your product; it helps you make improvements that best suit them, thereby bringing it in line with their needs and expectations.

Implemented Shift Filter After User Requests

When I launched PA Career Hub, the site didn't allow users to sort positions according to shifts and schedule, only specialty and salary. However, many job hunters wrote in and asked me to add another filter. I don't think I truly appreciated how many people go into physician assisting and nursing because of the flexible scheduling options, so it was an eye-opener.

Turns out, a lot of people prefer a particular shift or schedule, and allowing them to filter for that specifically was a great way to make my search site more useful.

COVID-19 only made the option more applicable. An increased workload across the entire industry made scheduling preferences even more valuable when looking for a new role.
